If so your PC will not allow the replacement with just any
old modem. Its not a case of whether your modem is XP, but Dell
compatible? ( Paris,2006)
I can't think of any reason that a modem would be Dell incompatable unless
it was very, very old. These days it may be hardly worth bothering with if
the old one won't work, buy a new one, I think they are very cheap and not
much chance of the cheapest one not working.
