Yes, I know that. But for one thing if you make changes to force virtual
memory that is different you get the message that Windows should manage the
virtual memory.

Yes, that is probably becaue memory usage is not like using water, you can't
just ram until there is none and expect the memory manager to easily switch
to virtual memory. This is probably because memory is used in large chunks.
Of course I would love to be able to work with a very experienced IP pro to
figure out how to optimize everything on my computer, memory, startup
programs, etc. I have the same wish about using Linux. I keep trying it and
getting frustrated and quitting. Then I go back. It is frusttrating. I
personally doubt that more than a small percentage of the IT pros our there
are so very expert. I think that most of them are still learning like I am,
they just are further ahead than I.

I have my doubts about how good Windows memory management really is.
>This really slows down your PC.
Yes, and if Windows was any good at memory management the user should never
see any memory related errors, well not many.
> You can be sitting there with 500mb of RAM unused it makes no difference.
It makes a difference if Widows is using slow virtual ram when you have
plenty of ram.
