Hey there Rupert!!!
Ok, here's the situation... my son's girlfriend gave me this Toshiba A15 S129
lap top. It's about 3 years old or so. The thing turns on, Windows XP loads, I
get to the desktop, etc. (most of the time anyway). I start tinkering around in
Windows and eventually (usually within a couple of minutes or so) the thing
shuts down.
I tried removing the battery and operating the thing from A/C only. No good.
Still shuts down.
I did check the settings and they're all set to "never" shut off.
I did notice the thing gets hot; the hotter it gets the faster it shuts off.
I have it sitting on the dining room table, so there should be enough
ventilation around the thing.
What do you think? I hate like hell to send this thing in for service
especially if it ends up costing an arm and a leg. I can replace the battery
myself, no big deal.
Thanks!
