After a bout with some adware and viruses I get all that mess cleaned
up, I discover now that I have no sound. when I try to play a song
from my computer, this message comes up:
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem
with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on
your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not
be functioning properly."
Also when I rebooted the computer, a message comes up saying that I
need to install the software for the new hardware that wss installed.
It says a sound card has been installed. I have not installed any new
hardware. Windows XP
