Also when I rebooted the computer, a message comes up saying that I need to install the software for the new hardware that wss installed. It says a sound card has been installed. I have not installed any new hardware. Windows XP Hi: Appears Windows thinks it has just found your sound hardware and now it may need for you to reinstall the software drivers. You might try going into device manager to see if there are any exclamation marks on your sound controllers. Sound drivers can be reinstalled from your original recovery CDs.
