Emile I can see the hobby angle right enough because in many ways its mine, but when you said you collect programs and many are off Magazines, I also wondered just what use it was saving 8000 of them. Here people use those disks as coasters or bird scarers and few seriously belive they are getting a bargain basin program that works for nothing, usually find the price of the mag is well covering the so called free CD.
I can also see that distributing the programs for people to use is a service but with Google and other search engines so many go seek what they need after learning the download skill anyway and more importantly get the latest version. So my question really is how do you ever keep 8000 up to date? -------Original Message------- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: 26/12/2007 01:25:09 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [A-1-Computer_Tech] Protection In a message dated 12/25/2007 10:52:55 A.M. Granted you probably own lots and lots of disc space, but why clutter it with programs you may never use? I admire your tenacity, but it seems something of a waste. Hi Walter: Well, you need to understand..........Computing and my Online groups are my hobby. I have several online groups. If I want to pursue this hobby and I want to be of any help online then I sure won't speak on something I have not tried. That is why I have had Vista from the very beginning. And I continue to use Vista even though I have no real use for it. Some people have albums full of stamps, and I know someone who has 500 lbs of rocks in his RV. This is a learning experience for me, and as long as I move forward I don't go backwards. On days that I have nothing scheduled I spend 5 hours on the internet. I was at the front of the first WIFI experiments and the same with Cellular Data connections in the days of analog. If someone has an unusual problem I will go online and research the problem. I file the information away for future reference.
