Buying an extended warranty is not something that can be decided Yes  
or No for all.
First off I think that some products should have an extended warranty  
without additional cost.
Some warranties are worth what they cost. I bought an HD TV and got  
the extended warranty, I think for a few hundred extra and when it  
developed vertical lines across the screen I got the screen replaced.  
Then when the new screen had the same problem I got the whole set  
replaced. Well worth the cost. I think you have to balance the cost of  
the warranty against the cost of the item. And probably do some  
guessing. Some products don't break down easily. None of my computers  
have ever needed an extended warranty.
