I do agree that fantom imagery does take place.
Even whatever I could see in my childhood which was not at all very much, and
was mainly confined to perceiving open windows distinguishing between a bus and
a truck and seeing Sun or its reflection and the like, continues to be
recreated even in my waking life whenever I pay attention to it.
In my trip to Dehradun last year, I was actually mesmerized to actually see in
my own limited way, the reflection of setting sun in the river.
It brings home richness of visual sense, and also that we continue to recreate
in our brains the sensory impressions we once had.

However, my visual sense was not to the extent where I may judge whether the
visualization in waking or dreaming is fading away now or not.
So, it is interesting to hear contradictory reports on this.
Maybe, duration of sight loss has some correlation to it.
But, as Sandeep says, he lost it over a prolonged period like Sudhir.'
So, why the difference?

It is an open question, and I welcome any opinions on it.
And yes, whether visualization/recollection in waking life and that in dreams
differs in some significant ways?
For me, It doesn't.

Did you lose your eye sight instantaneously (as in an accident like
Harish) or over a very brief period of time (like Payal ) ?

In such cases, the images stored in your brain must be crystal clear
till the "n- 1'st moment.

In my case, I lost my vision over a 10 year deteriorating period
Perhaps, my brain stored progressively degraded images.

Does this explain the difference between the two sets of contradictory
reports ? (smile)

Hi,
My experience is totally different. I still see the images and
colours and evrything else as vividly as I used to. I can even see
the faces of people exactly as I remember them and also as Harish
wrote of those I have never seen.
Best regards,
Sandeep
