Yes, yes and yes - articulated beautifully except there is physicality - try putting your head in an oven and switching it on then tell me it doesn't hurt!

Your zen master doesn't smack you without good reason :-)

What are you learning from pain?

Who is learning it?

Advaita? Zen? identifying the mind as illusion, that is all that is

It is NOT a metaphor.

What you are is [The Tao that can be spoken is not the real Tao].

That IS what you are.

What you are has NOTHING to do with the mind. No matter how much
traiining goes on in a mind, that does not change what you are in any
way whatsover.

"think psychologically not physically" <-- Nope. Think physically too!

You are NOT the body. Not in any way whatsoever.

There APPEARS to be a body. That appears within what you are. And the
body is made up of what you are.

"identifying the mind as illusion" <-- Close, but NOPE!

Identifying EVERYTHING as illusion, THAT is what is going on here.

There is NOTHING that is real.

ALL of this is a dream.

The only "thing" that is real is THE DREAMER, and when The Dreamer
awakes -- FROM the dream of "you" then The Dreamer realizes "it" was
only dreaming.

This is Awakening.

Awakening FROM the dream of "you".

Who, or what, awakens?

Awakeness itself. Another paradox. Awakeness was never asleep!

YOU are NOT asleep right now, YOU are Enlightened right now, YOU are
Enlightenment itself.

And that is all there is.
