Here's what I said: 1) I think VS2005 is Heads and Shoulders above VS2003
VS2003 had numerous destructive bugs. VS2005 fixed those and I haven't encountered any new destructive bugs, in my experience. 2) There's a few quirks with the Forms designer and build state, Gee, my acknowledgement that VS2005 is not perfect. 3) but other than that, nothing bad springs to mind. True, at 5AM, it slipped my mind that ASP.Net's forms designer is a bit of a hassle. Yet seeing how my last need for web development was back in the 90s and the tool then was InterCrash (InterDev), it seemed tolerable in comparison. 4) (Presuming you have GB's of RAM... anything less than 1GB is torture) Yet another concession to VS2005 is not perfect. So my entire controversial opinion which I somehow need to substantiate to you silly people with my entire coding history consisted of two comments in "support" of VS2005 and two that "opposed" it. Yes, I'm a crappy developer I guess, but at least I don't go around voicing conclusions on someone's aptitude based on silly email. Maybe that's a skill you can teach me. It's simply not enough to cite a counter-opinion, must make it personal. Maybe one of you L33TS can point out how any of my 4 points were without a basis. Opinions without apparent basis are noise. Your recent messages certainly have qualified as such. Describe something complex you've done with Winforms or Webforms and tell us you had no trouble; that might be an opinion that would be worth listening to. Does "I dropped a button on a form and wrote a Hello World program easily" describe what you've done?
