Well, so much for just swapping out a 450i AP for a 450m AP using the same
cabling. Cambium always seems to enjoy making our lives difficult. So we have
to keep changing our wiring and powering schemes as we go from 100 series to
430, 450, 450i, and 450m. Yikes.

I wonder if the 3.65 version uses more power because of higher regulatory xmt
power, either as a Part 90 device or in the future as a Part 96 device?

I’ve never quite figured out why a 3.65 SM is heavy and has cooling fins on the
back, yet a 450b mid gain SM I think has higher xmt power and fits in the
antenna feedtube.

Forrest,
I have learned that specifically the 3.6Ghz Medusa doesnt do POE at all. It
only accepts direct dc hookup.
Which leads me to this question since it also needs sync and requires cmm5 can
I still use the packetflux rack injector unit
to provide the sync needed since it is the same as the CMM5 just no POE.

I am sure someone from cambium could enlighten us if I am incorrect on this.
Thanks
Dave

I have the new 3.65 medusa on my mind.... plus I'm a bit tired.

The 48V 2.5A power supplies will run 2 non 3.65 medusa radios each. If you
jumper the boards so 2 radios run off of each power supply you'll be fine (the
AF24 is a similar quantity of power).

But, a bulk supply is probably a better idea if you can find one in your right
form factor.

I've been using CTM2's for nearly a decade, but they do not support 450m. CMM5
is waaay to expensive for what it does and is clunky. I've been looking at
Packetflux's RackInjector's.

I'm not familiar with PacketFlux products and need clarity on something. See
attached. I need to power (3) 450m AP's and a(1) AF24. I also need physical
spares for each unit. Is the attached parts list correct or am I missing
something?

Thanks!
