Sounds like a current or heat issue to draw power from any device.
I know a thread a while back where chuck and others discussed this on
types of wire as well.
I am on the fence about running AC up the tower or DC. The flaws in DC
are oxidation and current draw. Where AC is
more or less an extra set of hardware to help convert back to DC.
The though of having a small isolation transformer is not so bad though.
I guess a question for cambium would be to POE or not to POE?

yep, it should work, don't have a 3.65 medusa to test.
The shipping firmware in the rackinjector turns off sync if you turn
off power. I need to find out if the Medusa is ok with getting power
on that port even though it v won't use it. Long term I'll update the
firmware in the rackinjector to not shut sync off with power, but it
should be a firmware only change. The Firmware in the 4 port din
mountable one has already been updated.
In the interim one could just skip jumper ing that port for power
if one really needs to ensure no power is on the port.
I'm also looking at options to feed power from the rackinjector. Note
the new 5 channel PDU should be able to power the 3.65 medusa with
whatever polarity power it accepts.

Forrest,
I have learned that specifically the 3.6Ghz Medusa doesnt do POE
at all. It only accepts direct dc hookup.
Which leads me to this question since it also needs sync and
requires cmm5 can I still use the packetflux rack injector unit
to provide the sync needed since it is the same as the CMM5 just
no POE.
I am sure someone from cambium could enlighten us if I am
incorrect on this.
Thanks
Dave

I have the new 3.65 medusa on my mind.... plus I'm a bit tired.
The 48V 2.5A power supplies will run 2 non 3.65 medusa radios
each. If you jumper the boards so 2 radios run off of each power
supply you'll be fine (the AF24 is a similar quantity of power).
But, a bulk supply is probably a better idea if you can find one
in your right form factor.

I've been using CTM2's for nearly a decade, but they do not
support 450m. CMM5 is waaay to expensive for what it does and
is clunky. I've been looking at Packetflux's RackInjector's.
I'm not familiar with PacketFlux products and need clarity on
something. See attached. I need to power (3) 450m AP's and
a(1) AF24. I also need physical spares for each unit. Is the
attached parts list correct or am I missing something?
Thanks!
