Good: We've gotten contact from someone higher-up at Ubnt fiber who is
helping us diagnose this extremely puzzling issue (Thanks Cameron).

Bad: Problem is not fixed yet; we tried putting an Ubnt Edgerouter (in
switch mode) in line between our router and OLT; it stopped the disconnects
that happened every 10m15sec, but it seems to have a bug where it doesn't
pass PPPoE well so our ping tests worked but customers couldn't get online.

Weirder: Our OLT shows a connection on port SFP+1... when nothing at all is
connected into the port; we're testing with the SFP+2 port now.
