My wife swears that it is all simple math.  Judging from her recovery from
pregnancies I have to say she has it down.  You MUST count all calories.
She measures her food, measures her beer (we have a small scale in the
kitchen for weighing portions.  She has to work out for an extra 30 minutes
to be able to drink a strong beer, because the calories don't fit into her
diet unless she burns enough exercising to allow her to drink said beer.  I
can tell you that counting every single calorie in and every single calorie
burned through exercise works like crazy.  I am so glad that I have a high
metabolism and don't have to worry about it....yet.  Healthy food, limited
calories, and exercise.
