So what? That's one person's opinions, not based on any facts that I can tell. I would pay attention to what Kurzweil and Hinton are doing. Google is very much interested in AI. Maybe it is not so obvious when search results are a little more relevant than last year, but it is not an easy problem. I have noticed that when I write something about data compression, I no longer see ads for compression socks and air compressors. They are getting better. Kurzweil says he is going to work on the language problem. That seems to be easier than vision, but of course Google is also interested in making images and video searchable based on their content. Maybe you don't consider this to be AGI, but these are all prerequisite problems that I doubt anyone is going to solve without a big budget and a lot of computing horsepower. So don't knock it. -- -- Matt Mahoney, [email protected] ------------------------------------------- AGI Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/303/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/303/21088071-f452e424 Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=21088071&id_secret=21088071-58d57657 Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
