p.s.: A contemporary cpu/gpu can render a virtual world that already
looks pretty similar to the real one. Maybe in 20 years you won't be
able to tell any difference? Again, the game engine would not need to
simulate the virtual reality on the atomic/quantum level ... only if you
take measurements on the atomic/quantum level it would need to provide
low level detail information.
I thought about this for a long time. If everything is like Campbell
describes then _maybe_ this virtual reality will slow down considerably
as we conquer the atomic/quantum scale technology wise? Of course we
wouldn't actually notice an increase of delta-t (Planck time) just like
individuals in "The Sims" wouldn't notice if you increased the time it
takes the engine to render/update one single frame?
