Those who cannot offer decent 3G, yes. Case in point: The Nokia E62, a
Cingular/AT&T-branded E61. Carriers in Europe which have their UMTS
networks up, let me name Vodafone, don't seem to worry about the Pepsi
challenge. So I got an E60 the other year which offers VoIP over WLAN
as well as over UMTS and comes unlocked right out of the box. Now
here's a carrier it's a pleasure doing business with.
Back home I found hunting for WLAN coverage gets old pretty quick.
It's a sweet deal though running at home with an Asterisk box
terminating a handful of landlines.
