You need to convince people it's worth saying yes.

It's impossible to say you really will buy something unless you know 
what it is in a bit more detail. If you're offering a phone similar to 
the HTC Magic there maybe interest, if it's similar to the Kogan Agora 
then given Kogan dropped that device you're unlikely to see any interest.

There is also the issue of support. If it's a custom run of 250 devices 
and they're all taken what happens if someone gets one thats DOA?, What 
happens if the device developers a fault after a month or two? will 
replacements be available? will firmware upgrades be possible if the 
device uses custom hardware which is not supported by the main GIT 
repository version of Android?

At the moment you've got to convince people that what you're offering is 
more attractive than the ADP1, G1, the FreeRunner running Koolus 
distribution, or the HTC Magic from Vodafone, and from the responses 
you're getting I'd say you're not succeding.
