For someone who may be a bit dense, what is the value proposition of
Google TV?

I just got a blueray player that has Netflix and all these services
that the Revue is advertising.

Google TV doesn't have a tuner, it doesn't have DVR, DVD or blueray
that I can tell.

Is it so people can browse the web from their TV (like webTV)? Sure
that appeals to me as a geek. Is the public screaming for it, though?

If its apps, does that mean people are buying it now in hopes of
running some cool apps *next year*? It's not even ready for developers
yet. The built in apps it does list (Netflix, etc) are also available
on this blueray player I just got

Maybe it will be real cool when all hires hiquality content is
available on the internet. But nowdays a lot of it still comes
through these coax cables and these round flat plastic things.
