You can try sleeping on the grounds of the Presidio, but some guy will probably just beat you up using only his thumb. I've had good luck with Hotel Milano -- in fact, I just booked my reservation there. $99/night, plus about $2.3 million in taxes and fees (no different than any other hotel). You have to pay extra for WiFi, for those concerned about that. But it's a short walk away away from Moscone and BART (for getting to/from SFO) and it's fairly quiet, particularly if you reserve an Extra Quiet room. > Is anyone else looking for the opportunity to kayak in San Francisco > bay while they are there?
