DHCP has an expire field ... but unfortunately I don't know how to print
its contents in DOS.

Maybe you get only a new IP every week, or month.

Yes

You will notice, when they change your IP ... Arachne will stop working, so
than you should switch back to DHCP.

Sure you need one !!!
gateway is usually ip.ip.ip.1
(so if your IP is 10.20.30.40 than your GW is 10.20.30.1)
If you don't know your Netmask try 255.255.255.0

Reactivate DHCP, and look at the output of tcp.eek.
