Ah... while we are dreaming..... How about they open access to their source code for their paying customers. ( They do not even have to change the licensing model to do that.) Just let us see the real code. If they are still wanting to keep things locked down... then they can keep some parts closed source too.
That way they build "platform presence" and can get their customers to actually help them fix BUGS in their code. :) The real root problem (IMHO) they think that they can make more money the way they are running the business now.
