I agree, but am slightly amused that you immediately come up with the issue of flat frequency responce in-room. I think that this is also pretty meaningless - the best sounds that I have heard have all come from non-DRC systems. For me, it's all about 'do I like this sound?'. I listen to live (classical) music regularly, and like a sound that is as similar as possible to the live sound in my living room. DBT doesn't help me to achieve this. Others are not looking for this kind of fidelity. I think it's fun to argue the difference, even if you're really not going to achieve much. I like arguing with religious people for the same reason. I certainly don't want any censorship. Conversations move on, why shouldn't threads? If people feel they've heard it all before, it's easier to move to a different thread than it is to move to a different conversation! We could have some score-based moderation, but never any post removal.
