Again, this cuts both ways. I've seen plenty of threads where, for
instance, the OP says his bass response isn't what he'd like, someone
suggests a good sub, and a tweaker comes in with "oh, if you want more
bass, yes, but I thought you wanted better bass", and proceeds to make
a recommendation you would have to believe in alternative physics to
accept.

The whole idea of the tweakers as a persecuted group is something 
that's a little hard to credit. I'll grant you, on some other fora,
they're given more carte blanche, but so what?
