I'm not sure why you seem so offended by the idea? If it DID sound better, then it's a £100 upgrade. I'm not saying that it will - but I am going to try it because I'm getting a v-link for other reasons anyway as I've explained. I will also be comparing SBS PC+v-link+DAC against Touch+ DAC. I don't know which might sound better. I don't see any sows ears or cans of worms in any of this, personally. The whole thing about systems is synergy/gestalt, not "If part A works properly I shouldn't need part B" - but that's my personal view. IMO if A+B sounds best then that doesn't make A or B in anyway inferior or defective items. Anyway, this is all speculative, because I haven't got the v-link yet! I've heard the rDAC - wasn't particularly impressed TBH. DAC's are like speakers (albeit on a much smaller scale of impact on the system) - very personal choices.
