Thats makes this forum intresting, one day the Touch's spdif is one of the better you can get on the market regardless off price, the next day you need extensive mods ( that do nothing) to even begin to think about listening to it ;)
A previus poster said that is basically solved problem I tend to agree. Modern dac's are insesitive and modern sources are quite good including the Touch . Maybe a NOS dac with components put on the scrap heap decades ago by others, so I can start to experience the "difference" again ? Like the old days when my dac and transport had to be on for hours to get to the rigth temperature to lock properly ? But solving this " problem " now 10 years after it got fixed for everyone ? In my hifi using a CD of good quality unscratched ( to make it fare to compare to a rip ). My Meridian DVD-A player, My SB3 and my Touch sound completely identical using digital outputs and thats the expected results, unless some hardware is broken or the listener for example me is broken . -- Mnyb -------------------------------------------------------------------- Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub.
