Terrific weekend on the west coast, Saturday post frontal condition were superb, I got 4 turns at 10.5 on the averager in one burster. 7000' tops. Whizzed around 200kms as I had to leave early for a dinner engagement (gather ye brownie points while ye may!) Back on Sunday for some more, west coast trough formed, 6000' on the skew-t was dinki-di. Set 310k FAI triangle, and 3 got round. Thermals were tight, rough & strong 4-6 knots. I did a lead & follow with young Anthony Slaven who was in the club Jantar. I'm getting a bit worried because I didn't have to wait for him much.... Ray in the LS3 cut short as he had handicapped himself on Saturday night (a vintage red I believe). 4-6 knots average to 6-6500. 42 flights for the day, with 4 two-seaters operating with both tugs. Duty Instructor looked a wee bit tired by the end of the day. In case you haven't heard, I LOVE that Hornet, Regards, John.
