Many (perhaps most) of the problems I've had with OOo over the years have been related to the use of custom styles. If I use the built-in styles, most things work fine, but it often does not play nicely with custom styles. Definitely not good for anyone trying to use it for professional work! Especially when working documents suddenly go wrong in a new release, as has happened with 2.4.
