As I alluded to earlier, I feel that a competent test team clearly
wasn't aboard this Titanic's maiden voyage.
What types of procedures were missed for this to occur?
Life at OOo isn't that easy ;-) There's a lot being done to get high
quality products. See http://qa.openoffice.org
However, clear suggestions on how to improve, are welcome of course.
Apart from that, what I said in my other mail is really really valid:
working with snapshots and beta's as much as possible to find bugs
that slip through all the other (automated) testing.
In my experience, in the pre-release stage of development they are
picked up (very) fast.
Kindest regards,
Cor
Perhaps I'm being too critical. But having some procedures checking for
backward compatibility are usually automated, I thought.
In any event, this should have been caught before going beta and,
definitely, not after a general release. Now, I have to consult all my
commercial accounts and check everything done since 2 April. Ditto for
any other commercial users once they discover those gremlins themselves.
