Good day! I have to chime in here - I haven't had time to reply to (or read) very many postes since I've been working lots, but had a relative who told us she's give me our Borba & Mattos side of the family relatives to vists in the Azores this past summer. At my Grandma Borba's funeral earlier this year she told us, "Oh you have lots of family in the Azores to visit." She's married into the family - she and her husband visit the Azores each year and stat with the Borba and Mattos families (I belive in Sao Jorge). Do you think she would have responsed to the original offer, or my several emails prior to our trip? No, not even to this day. This post reminds me that I need to just write her and ask for this information. Her 90+'s year old Mother-in-Law is my Great-Great Aunt and the last person a live of her generation, so I better get on this if I can't get it from her, maybe my Great-Great Aunt. Thanks for sharing this post. It saddened me that this is my Father's family and he wasn't able to meet any of "his" relatives during our trip. We did meet my Mother's relatives in Terceira, so there was a happy note there.
