The date on the file card of June 8 1882, is incorrect. The ship SS Monarch
arrived in Hawaii 2 Jul 1882, 57 days out of Sao Miguel . It would have left
port the first week of May, and been rounding South America at that time. The
manifest might not be available, but the Oakland FHC has the films of the
Portuguese Consulate registering immigrants at Honolulu
