What do most of you people do for this? You are entering a birth, baptism,
marriage, death. It doesn't matter. Your screen opens up and asks for the
place where this event happened. My program has the following fields:
Detail
City
County
State
Country

Detail = the church, but I use it only if there is more than 1 church in
that freguesia (Sao Miguel Arcanjo & Sao Pedro are both in Vila Franca).
City = freguesia
County = I put the island there. I know it's closer to the concelho, but
before the CCA came online, the concelho didn't matter. I pulled the roll
of film for my freguesia.
State = I put Azores there
Country = Portugal

I wouldn't too much work to put the county as the concelho and put the
state as Sao Miguel, Azores. But in sharing Gedcoms, we probably should
start to be consistent with each other.

And I DO NOT abbreviate any more. Or not in the places (in my side notes I
abbreviate). SM? What's that? Santa Maria or Sao Miguel? F? Faial or
Flores?? You want your great-grandkids to inherit this and as adults they
pull it out and can't figure out your abbreviations?

So how do all of you fill in your place fields?
