Recently OS X started showing all my text files as being "Unix Executable Files" and belonging to the Terminal. If I do a Get Info on one, select BBEdit in the "Open With" menu, and click Change All, I get an error message saying, "An error occurred while changing the application that opens “your_file” because not enough information is available. "
