Howdy, I guess I don't understand. You can always set up BBEdit to look for updates when it opens (or when you choose to) and it will then update itself. Not only that, since you are aware of the changes you should also be aware of updates from this list and then you can tell BBEdit to update. Personally, I updated to BBEdit 10 through Bare Bones because they get all of the money while Apple grabs its part if you do it via the App Store.
