Apart from not being what I like (and I consider a bit ugly in the way of the 
post-metal taste of Address Book), I think the buttons look somewhat squashed. 
It also seems strange that the main area of the status bar displays buttons for 
the lower split of the ‚main‘ window area when that area is completely hidden 
and the buttons have no conceivable effect.

Just my €0,02. As I’ll just turn the status bar off anyway, I can’t say that it 
affects my usage of BibDesk in practise, though.
