Robbie Webber once told me that she actually points when she puts her arm (left or right) out, so that drivers have a better chance of understanding what she is signaling. I thought that was a good idea and have adopted when signaling. However, I typically, but not always, use my left arm to signal right, as I like to keep my right hand on the handlebars and its a habit, but I often feel like the people in the cars are confused by it.
