You seem to be accusing Bill of resorting to ad hominem attacks. I do not believe that he did so by describing positions as being "anti-reality" and associating adherents of those positions with a fictitious "anti-reality movement." Clearly, there is no such movement. Clearly, it was said in jest and seemingly without particular malice.
On the other hand, Al, you have resorted to ad hominem attacks of Bill. You have called him a "total jerk" and a "disgrace." Discourse remains civil as long as positions and not persons are attacked. It is no longer civil when persons, rather than positions, are attacked.
