Yes, I've just been experiencing the same thing... If I start without x,
no problem, it reads my .xinitrc. But when I start with xdm, it just won't
login. Have I done anything wrong? It's weird because my
/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc points to xinitrc, in which there is 'exec
blackbox' and 'bbkeys -i &'.
