Nominations were invited for Magazine team of the mission, till 15th of April. After consultation with the applicants, the National Executive is announcing the Magazine Team as follows: Editorial Board Editor: Santosh N (Pune) Jt-Editor: Krishanu (Delhi) Team members Abhinav V (Bhopal) Prasad S (Amaravati) Arun V (Chennai) Rupesh G (Pune) Varun S (Pune) Vishnu S (Pune) The Editorial board has accepted its responsibility, while the roles and responsibilities of the other team members are subject to their acceptance. The criterion of being a active member was relaxed by the NE after due consideration. The Magazine team can be contacted on [EMAIL PROTECTED] *Terms of Reference (*These are in addition to the ones already stated in the announcement for calling nominations for the Magazine team.*)* 1. The initial tenure of the 1st Magazine Team is approximately 6 months, starting May 1st 2007 and ending Sept. 30th, 2007. It will be responsible for bringing out issues of the magazine, starting tentatively with June 1st till October 1st. 2. The Magazine Team will consist of the Editorial Board (EB) and other members. 3. The EB will initially consist of the Editor & one Sub-Editor. 4. The EB may add members to the team as needed, while National Executive will manage the membership of EB. Members can be added to EB in future. 5. The EB will be responsible for all policy matters and decision making in the Magazine Team. The EB will function under the overall supervision of the NE. 6. The decision of the Editor in all matters concerning the Magazine will be final, subject only to the review of the National Executive (NE). *Some Details about Magazine* 1. Magazine will be published on the 1st of every month. 2. News coverage period: 21st of previous month to 20th of current month i.e. if the Magazine is dated June 1 (the June issue), the News coverage will be between Apr. 21st and May 20th. 3. All articles and letters for possible publication in the next month's issue should reach the EB by 20th of the previous month. 4. Initially the circulation will be private i.e. within the mission. Later it may be made available to the public, free of cost or at nominal cost to recover the expenses on publishing. 5. Initially only the electronic form (pdf document) will be brought out and if possible, it may be made available for download on the website. The National Executive would like to mention that Santosh and Krishanu made significant contributions in communicating with members, forming the team and the writing the terms of reference. Jai Hind. The Policy has been drafted with the aim of * Empowering chapters in getting visibility for their work * Defining role and responsibility of everyone in interacting with media * To facilitate projecting the right image of the mission through media All members are expected to read the policy carefully and follow it with immediate effect. The spokesperson(s) (as mentioned in the policy) shall be appointed and annouced in due course. To begin with the National Media Committee shall have General Secretary (Vikram Bharat, from Delhi) and Coordinator of Info team (Saurabh Bharat From Gwalior) as the members. Only those Active members, authorized according to this policy are allowed to interact with Media. 2. If media approaches any of the not-authorized members, they shall redirect the media persons to the General Secretary. 3. In case of any doubts about this policy, decision of National Executive will be final. *National Level Organs* 1. General secretary is authorized to represent the organization and interact with media on behalf of BM. 2. If spokesperson(s) is/are appointed by the National Executive, then only the spokesperson(s) apart from General Secretary shall be authorized to represent the organization to the media. 3. The National Media Committee shall help General Secretary and spokespersons. * National Media Committee* *Members* 1. General Secretary will be the head of the committee. 2. All Spokespersons 3. Coordinator of information Team 4. Maximum 2 more members * Responsibilities* 1. Help chapters and spokesperson(s) to make their interaction smooth with media. 2. Prepare press notes and other documents for media interaction including material for National activities. *Chapter Level Organs * *Active chapters* 1. Chapters can approach to media to get visibility for their activities and only for the issues related to the chapter. 2. Only Secretary and Joint secretary or any active member authorized by Executive of chapter can interact with media on behalf of chapter. 3. No member, unless authorized by National Executive, is allowed to interact with media on the issues of ideology, organizational policies and issues that are not limited to the chapter. *Associate chapters* 1. All above conditions for active chapter shall apply to associate chapters also. 2. Now that we have successfully fulfilled one basic requirement -- that of a team -- we need to to answer another basic need -- that of a name, for the Magazine. We request members to send suggestions for the name of the magazine to * [EMAIL PROTECTED], in reply to this email. Please keep in mind: * This is going to be the official Magazine (mouthpiece) of the mission * The name should carry the spirit of the mission, and the sense of a magazine too * The name once decided will be final, so be innovative in suggesting the name. You also NEED TO GIVE REASONING, why you think that would be a good name. Last date for sending the names is 28th April 2007. The National Council will consider the names and take a final decision on the name. I had an important question or introspecting topic for all of us. As members of BM, how do we maintain/enhance our purity of mind? Purity is our key strength. Are we walking on some path e.g. Yoga, Self Enquiry, Vipassana Meditation, etc., which will make our mind pure and strong? Kindly share views and advices. My personal experience of Vipassana Meditation has been very good and encouraging. There may be other spiritual paths also which help us in our lives and mission.
