I know there are weak points to the E36, is this one? I've done a few schools, along with a number of autocrosses. Suspension mods are H&R sport springs, Bilstein shocks, Turner sway bars. Any reason other than wear and tear? Secondly, are there any upgraded parts to install? Or just replace every 100K miles? Not so basic needs: 4 tires, 205/60-14 - hey, may as well upgrade a bit, eh? Might even be willing to consider: 4 wheels (4 on 100 bolt circle with proper offset) and tires, 14" or 15", if the deal is right. Whatchya got? We bought this car almost 2 years ago with new Bridgestone Eager tires, 195/65-14. Other than holding the car off the ground, they don't do much worth talking about here. I couldn't wait to wear them out. OTOH, I hate to throw away good tires. Now I have 2 of both. Two car control clinics, three autocrosses and 20K miles later, we picked up a nail in what was the right front. The two former fronts are now so thin on tread on the inside edges that no tire dealer in his right mind would patch the hole. So at minimum I need 2 tires.
