I didn't look at the pictures, but I know what I would to if I were in your 
shoes.

1.  Buy a used engine to get the car running.  Hopefully you can find a trusted 
source and confirm the engine's condition with compression and leakdown tests, 
etc.

B.  When you have time, rebuild the other engine, maybe with some upgrades, or 
else sell parts off it to help fund the one you buy.

Chris Fuerst once said he asked a local auto parts store owner if he carried 
Bentley manuals.  The guy didn't but wanted to know when he sold the BMW and 
bought a Bentley.
