No, we should put it in -- no matter the feedback. Let's consider the use cases:
1) Downloaded boost --
a) start reading docs, don't like format (hereafter SRDDLF)
b) find .css file, change to my liking or remove.
2) Reading docs on boost.org
a) SRDDLF
b) download boost and go to 1-b
3) Reading docs on boost.org
a) SRDDLF
b) Learns to use my browser overrides (some allow for full CSS override,
while others just force fonts and colors -- oh yeah that's what the
whole argument is about).
So you see, if the user really wants control they can get control. However,
if we don't put up some sort style, well it won't be art ;-)
On more thing -- we already have some non-standard style sheets and there has
been nary a complaint. To be less boring, Date-time has had it's own style
sheet since day 1 -- have a look:
http://www.boost.org/libs/date_time/doc/index.html. I've heard plenty about
what's wrong with the date-time docs, but not a single whisper about the style
sheet. Oh, and there's at least one page people would be right to complain
about -- http://www.boost.org/libs/date_time/doc/Changes.html -- I have no
idea what I was thinking...
Jeff
ps: if we are really paranoid we can put something in the website somewhere
about how to change the colors / fonts, etc.
