Hello Alex: I use a wonderful program called Iimtoo. It will RIP DVD's into just about every format imaginable including .mp3. This was actually a Jonathan find from a year or so ago. The demo is free and the whole program costs something like $29.
As an aside, you can also get a little program from NCH audio called Switch which will allow you to convert from and to just about every audio format available.
