There are benefits and downfalls of having to send back your unit to have
the battery replaced by the dealer.

Benefits:
-You are sure that you are getting the proper battery, one that will last
you.
-You are having people that know the unit inside and out replace the
battery, so if there is any damage done to the unit, they will fix it with
no additional charge
-While the battery is being replaced, there will be a thorough inspection
done to the unit to make sure that everything is in top condition. There
will be also general maintenance and cleaning performed to your unit while
it is in the shop.
-Batteries that are non-user replaceable tend to last longer than those that
are user replaceable as they are not constantley being tampered with and we
are not getting the oil from our fingers on them.

Downfalls:
-Users are without their unit for a few weeks

As you are able to tell there are a lot more benefits than downfalls to
having non-user replaceable batteries.
