Dear Andy, Well, here's the history. I started out with a VoiceNote QT because there was no BrailleNote QT and I was impatient to use the features of the product. I didn't want to buy a BrailleNote BT. I prefer using braille, so I bought the BN QTa year later. I went through quite a withdrawal when I had to send it in for cleaning. I was using the BrailleNote as much as I could especially for reading choir music. I realized I could never go back to using speech alone. But I was afraid to upgrade the motherboard and the software. I have a superstition upgrading hardware causes problems with currently problem-free equipment. But I use Duxbury a lot and when PDI implemented Duxbury into the BN, I knew I wanted a BN with that translator. I also wanted to use the old one as a backup when the new one went in for cleaning. Just recently, I have gotten into listening to audio books on CD. I decided to use my VoiceNote as a remote synthesizer so my PC speakers could be reserved for CDs.
Only my Keynote Companion, which still works, is not used anymore but I can't part with it for sentimental reasons. It was my first PDa, the first computer I used on the internet. Does this answer your question? Terri Pannett, Amateur Radio call sign KF6CA. Army MARS call sign AAT9PX, California
