Thanks for answering all of my questions.
Based on your very good description of the problem it sounds like the pressure
stat is fine. The problem is probably with the digital control or the high
temperature limit on top of the boiler may be tripped.
If you want to set up a time that we can talk on the phone while you are in
front of the machine let me know and we can probably figure it out in about 5
to 10 minutes.
Thanks
Todd

Hi Todd, Brewtus has given me a whole new problem, but first to answer
your questions:

1) Yes, I have been turning the machine on manually--usually on
between 5:30 - 8 am, off between 8 or 11am, either way, is only on 3-5
hrs max in the mornings.

2) Machine is on 30-60 minutes before I brew

3) The steam pressure was acting normally, not dropping and not headed
for the red zone.

4) Don't remember about the LED indicator light, but the drop in temp
didn't last long, maybe only a minute or two,
it did go back up for the next few shots.

Problem now though is the temp won't heat up at all. Turn on the
machine, it goes to about 29C. I pull some water through the group
head. The red indicator light (on the right side of machine) goes on
for a moment, maybe the temp increases by a 1 or 2 degrees, then it
just sits again. usually 29 and 38 although one morning I got it up
to 41 after several tries.
The LCD setting is at 95 where I had it. There's only one light on the
LCD light thats on--second light doesn't seem to come on at all.

This happened to me in November, I called to troubleshoot to tech
services x2. I was told I needed a new LCD controller.
I waited 4months (count'em) and was told you still didn't have the
part.
Then I was given a different technician who diagnosed as a pressure
stat. Replace pressure stat which fixed problem
that was like March? then my pressure safety valve (?) was leaking.
Took it apart and cleaned it.
Machine worked for a while.

The way it is acting now is like when it was the pressure stat except
my pressure gauge doesn't head for the red zone like it did before.
( and the stat was replaced within the last 2? 3months at the most.

I know I should check the hi limit switch just as a matter of check
the easy stuff, but really, I'm sick of taking it apart.
I do have it plumbed (thru a float valve into the reservoir) with a
water softener/filter

I wrote a bunch of other stuff, but it was all whining.
And my shots were even better than I remembered when it was working..
