ken, look in the files section for an article about your inquiry

Having just gone through my little exercise with the controller
replacement, I am beginning to think about how the temperature offset
and the set temperature relate to this issue of brewing temperature.
I noticed that Ira and Barry have different offsets (-5 for Ira and -7
for Barry, I believe). Am I correct that one machine showing a 95 C
degree temperature on the LCD and a -5 offset has a boiler temperature
(and, therefore, grouphead temperature) that is theoretically 2 C
degrees lower than one that has an offset of -7 C? In other words,
should one talk about a "corrected" temperature (corrected for the
degree offset) when one talks about the temperature rather than just
asking what to what temperature someone has set their machine? Am I
missing something here?
