Thanks everyone for all your insight and sharing your knowledge on this 
subject matter.

I plan to pick up some food grade 111 grease and trying taking the lever 
apart and very sparingly apply a small amount inside the assembly that was 
review in a you tube video.  I did take the level assembly apart once 
before when I was concerned about the stiff operation (without using 
grease) and it did help a lot with its' movement.  Didn't take long to do 
and next time I'll apply a small amount to all the important areas.

Many thanks again and I'll keep you posted in the next couple of weeks when 
I get the grease and appy.
