I'm skeptical that this is even remotely possible. I wish
it were, but I think terrorists are kind of like weeds - you
can never get rid of them all. I think that the tactics
necessary to reduce their effectiveness to near zero would

unwilling to bear.
I agree that ultimately we have to find the root cause for
such disaffection if we really want an effective, permanent
solution. That doesn't mean I don't think we should go
after those responsible for the 9-11 attack; I
whole-heartedly support a firm, rapid response.
