No, saying something like "you got what you deserved" could be reasonably
interpreted as a lack of sensitivity.

That is overstating the facts, Dan. I only pointed out to you a few rather
consistent spelling errors ("Afganastan" instead of "Afghanistan"), and
suggested that you reread your posts before you send them, because it
happens occasionally that you leave unfinished sentences at the end of
paragraphs.

I am familiar with the meaning of the word "blast". (Given my
repeatedly-praised command of the English language, would you really expect
otherwise?)

Those words were written in anger, and indeed harsh and unnecessary. For
that, I offer my apologies.

Wrong. I do not hate "everything American", and I am certainly not
disgusted with Americans in general. I do not like the way America behaves
in the world, and there are many things I believe America should do
different within its own borders, but I do not hate America.

I still intend to visit the US someday. And FYI, there are a few Americans
on this list who I consider to be not just fellow listmembers, but friends.

I do. One of the reasons I want to see it for myself some day.

When visiting there, I think it would actually be quite enjoyable to meet
with a number of Brinellers. (I met one in person earlier this year, and he
appeared to be quite a nice guy.)
